The short answer

What does a TL Pavers pool deck project include?

TL Pavers builds and replaces pool decks with travertine, marble and concrete pavers in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade. We plan the slope away from the pool, set the stone on a stable base and finish the edge with coping, so the deck looks clean and stays safe to walk on. Free estimates.

The pool deck is where you actually live in a South Florida backyard. It needs to look good next to the water, stay comfortable in the afternoon sun and drain fast after a storm. Natural stone like travertine and marble stays cooler under bare feet than plain concrete, which is one reason it is the favorite around pools from Boca Raton to Fort Lauderdale.

Our work ranges from light stone decks wrapping a backyard pool and spa to oceanfront decks with white pavers set in a diamond pattern with artificial turf joints. Because we also do coping and tile, you do not need a second contractor to finish the edge of the pool.

What is included

  • Removal of old deck, cool deck coating or cracked concrete
  • Base preparation and slope away from the pool and the house
  • Travertine, marble or concrete pavers in the pattern you choose
  • Cuts around skimmers, drains, steps and spa edges
  • Coping and waterline tile when the project needs it
  • Final cleaning and walkthrough

The part you never see is the part that lasts: the base.

Every job starts with excavation and a compacted base, sloped for South Florida rain. That is what keeps pavers level for years.

Choosing the material

Travertine

Natural stone with a soft, matte surface. Stays cooler than concrete and has the classic Florida resort look.

Marble

Light, elegant and very bright in the sun. Great for modern pools and waterfront homes.

Concrete pavers

The most budget friendly option, with many colors and textures, and easy to repair one piece at a time.

Slabs with turf joints

Large pavers with artificial grass between them, for a modern look that softens a big deck.

How it works

How a pool deck project works

01

Free estimate

Send a few photos or have us look at the space. We measure, talk through how you use the area, and give you a clear written price.

02

Material and layout

You pick the material, color and pattern. We plan the slope so rain runs away from the house and the pool, which matters with South Florida downpours.

03

Base and install

Excavation, compacted base, edge restraint, then the pavers or stone, cut clean at every curve and step.

04

Walkthrough

Joints filled, surface cleaned, and we walk the finished job with you before we call it done.

Travertine stays cooler and has a natural look; concrete pavers cost less and come in more colors. Both work well when the base and slope are done right. We bring samples to the estimate so you can see and feel them.
Yes. Most deck replacements keep the pool as it is. If the coping or the waterline tile is old, it is usually the best time to replace them too, and we do that work in the same project.
Tumbled and textured finishes give good grip when wet. We help you pick a finish that fits a pool area.
For deck work alone the pool usually stays full. Coping or tile work at the waterline may need the water lowered. We tell you ahead of time.
